SALVATION ARMY OF ROME IS RAISING A WHITE FLAG AMID THE FREEZING OVERNIGHT TEMPS PREDICTED FOR THIS WEEK

The Salvation Army of Rome is raising a White Flag as freezing temperatures are ahead for our area this week. That organization announced via Facebook during the weekend that it will operate as a White Flag, Cold Weather Shelter in the coming days.

When temperatures are forecast at or below 32 degrees, the Salvation Army will provide “cold weather” beds should the need arise. During “White Flag”, individuals that do not have adequate access to heat are welcomed to stay at the Salvation Army of Rome, regardless of whether they had been previously dismissed. The facility is located at 317 East 1st Avenue.

Donations of full sized blankets, knit hats, gloves, and scarves are needed by the organization at this time. Hot hands, hot chocolate, and coffee would also be appreciated.
