LOCAL NON-PROFITS SEEK DONATIONS ON GIVING TUESDAY ’20

Today is Giving Tuesday. Giving Tuesday has been observed since 2012 on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving as a ‘global generosity movement unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and the world’, according to GivingTuesday.org.

Local non-profits are rallying their troops to pitch in donations on this Giving Tuesday 2020, since many of their fundraising efforts for this year have been negatively impacted by the coronavirus pandemic.

Betsy Allgood, Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity of Coosa Valley, is inspired by this global movement which inspires people to ‘do good’.

Grant Magness, Founder of the Mission ISPossible Foundation, encourages all Romans to join the movement and give on this Giving Tuesday.

Other organizations in Rome and Floyd County soliciting donations from the public on this Giving Tuesday include the American Red Cross of Northwest Georgia, Hospitality House for Women, Inc, the William S. Davies Homeless Shelters, and Open Door Children’s Home.
