NO COVID-19 RELATED DEATHS IN GEORGIA ON MONDAY, OVER 1,500 NEW CASES; KEMP EXTENDS THE PUBLIC HEALTH STATE OF EMERGENCY AND COVID-19 GUIDELINES

Zero COVID-19-related deaths were reported in Georgia on Monday by the state’s Department of Public Health. There were a total of 1,535 new cases of the virus statewide.

According to the latest report by the DPH issued just before 3 pm, there have been 422,133 confirmed cases of COVID-19 across the state. A total of 8,778 fatalities have been attributed to the virus. In Floyd County, there were 5,066 confirmed cases and 77 deaths. Fulton County had the state’s highest number of confirmed cases with 37,469 and the most fatalities with 670.

Governor Brian Kemp on Monday signed a couple of Executive Orders that extend Georgia’s public health state of emergency through January 8th, 2021, as well as current COVID-19 restrictions through December 15th. One order also includes changes which will permit nurses and pharmacists to administer the pending COVID-19 vaccine, including in a drive-thru setting, and allows any nurse or pharmacist to observe their patients for the requisite 15 minute window after they receive this vaccine.
