The deadline to register to vote in the January 5th runoff election is coming up on Monday, December 7th. The runoff, which has garnered national headlines, will determine who will fill Georgia’s seats in the US Senate; hotly contested races are among the Republican incumbents Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue and their Democratic challengers Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff. There is also a post on the Public Service Commission up for a vote. Advance voting in this election will begin on Monday, December 14th.
Floyd County did its part to meet the deadline of Wednesday at 11:59 pm for the latest statewide recount of votes in the 2020 presidential race. It marked a third count of the votes in that election.
