GEORGIA’S ELECTION RESULTS HAVE BEEN CERTIFIED – AGAIN

Georgia’s Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger has recertified the results of the November 3, 2020 presidential election, as indicated in a press release by his office. The recertification followed an audit-triggered hand recount and a formal recount requested by the Trump campaign. Both recounts upheld that race’s original outcome. Certified results of state and federal races are posted on the Secretary of State’s website at www.sos.ga.gov.

Also on Monday, a lawsuit launched by former Trump lawyer Sidney Powell was dismissed by Judge Timothy Batten of the United States District Court of the Northern District of Georgia.

Early voting for the January 5th runoff election in Georgia is set to begin next Monday, December 14th. That election will determine who will represent this state in the United States Senate. The Republican incumbents David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler face opposition from Democrats Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock. A post on the state’s Public Service Commission is additionally up for a vote in the runoff.
