SALVATION ARMY OF ROME’S BELL RINGERS PUT SAFETY FIRST THIS HOLIDAY SEASON

The Salvation Army of Rome’s bell ringers are putting safety first amid their efforts to raise funds in the annual Red Kettle campaign.

Lt. Paula Blevins asserts that volunteers and paid ringers are adhering to the CDC guidelines to keep donors (and themselves) safe through the holidays in this era of coronavirus.

The goal for this year’s Red Kettle campaign is $87,000. Blevins attests that her organization is on track to meet that goal, despite the challenges posed by the virus. Concerned citizens may also make their donations to the campaign online at www.salvationarmygeorgia.org/rome; click ‘Rescue Christmas’.

Blevins indicates that contributions are additionally sought for the Salvation Army of Rome’s Angel Tree program, which provides Christmas gifts to local families in need. The program is geared towards children from birth to age 12 and seniors age 65 and up. Distribution is scheduled for Thursday, December 17th. For more information, call (706) 291-4745.
