ADVANCE VOTING BEGINS MONDAY FOR JANUARY 5TH RUNOFF

Advanced in-person voting for the January 5th runoff election in Georgia will begin on Monday. Floyd County voters may cast their advance ballots at the Elections Office in the county Administration Building on East 4th Avenue or Garden Lakes Baptist Church at 2200 Redmond Circle from 8 am to 5 pm each weekday until December 31st (aside from Christmas Eve and Christmas Day); early voting will not be offered on New Year’s Day, Friday, January 1st, 2021. Local voters will also have a chance to vote early during the weekend; early voting will be offered at the Elections Office on Saturday and Sunday, December 19th and 20th from 9 am to 4 pm, as well as at the church from 9 am to 4 pm on Saturday, December 19th and again from 1 pm to 4 pm on Sunday, December 20th.

The runoff will determine who will represent Georgia in the US Senate; the candidates include Republican incumbents Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue and Democratic challengers Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff. A post on the Public Service Commission is also up for a vote in this election.
