ADVANCE IN-PERSON VOTING UNDERWAY TODAY FOR JANUARY 5TH RUNOFF ELECTION

Advance in-person voting in the January 5th runoff election in Georgia begins today. Floyd County voters may cast advance ballots at the Elections Office, located in the county’s Administration Building on East 4th Avenue, or Garden Lakes Baptist Church, located at 2200 Redmond Circle, from 8 am until 5 pm each weekday until December 31st (aside from Christmas Eve and Christmas Day); advance voting will not be offered on New Year’s Day, Friday, January 1st, 2021.

Local voters will also have an opportunity to vote early during the weekend; advance voting will be offered at the local Elections Office on Saturday and Sunday, December 19th and 20th from 9 am to 4 pm, as well as at the church from 9 am to 4 pm on Saturday, December 19th and again from 1 pm to 4 pm on Sunday, December 20th.

The runoff will determine who will represent Georgia in the US Senate; the candidates include Republican incumbents Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue and Democratic challengers Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff. A post on the Public Service Commission is also up for a vote in this election.
