Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation continues its distribution of balls to local children at the holiday time. That’s good news for kids who were not able to make it to the drive-thru Playtime with Santa event held this past Saturday at Ridge Ferry Park, during which over 500 balls were doled out.
Balls will be given away this Wednesday at Shag Williams Park in Shannon and on Thursday from 4 pm to 6 pm at the Gilbreath Center in Lindale. The balls are for kids 12 and under; there’s a limit of two balls per family. Soccer balls, footballs, and basketballs are free to recipients, thanks to a sponsorship of Coca-Cola. Balls are distributed on a first come, first served basis!
