STATE PARKS REMAIN POPULAR AMONG GEORGIANS IN SEARCH OF SOCIALLY-DISTANT ADVENTURES IN THE GREAT OUTDOORS

Cooler temperatures have led many to stay indoors in recent days, but others remain in search of socially-distant adventures in the great outdoors.

Kim Hatcher, Public Affairs Coordinator for Georgia State Parks and Historic Sites, enthuses that parks are open for the public to explore and offer outdoor adventures such as hiking, fishing, geocaching, and more. Reservations must be made in advance for park ranger-led activities.

For the outdoors enthusiast on that Christmas shopping list, Hatcher suggests a 2021 Annual Pass to Georgia State Parks and Historic Sites. The passes are $50 each, half price for those 62 and over.

Hatcher also says that the Georgia State Parks and Historic Sites’ 2021 Travel Guide is now available; it may be obtained via the mail by calling 1-800-864-7275 and online at www.gastateparks.org.
