NEARLY 5,000 NEW CASES OF CORONAVIRUS REPORTED ACROSS GEORGIA ON TUESDAY

A total of 4,860 new cases of coronavirus were reported across Georgia on Tuesday by the state’s Department of Public Health, which additionally noted 35 more virus-related fatalities. Two of those fatalities were reported here in Floyd County.

According to the latest report by the DPH issued just before 3 pm, there have been 484,152 confirmed cases of COVID-19 statewide. The state’s death toll now stands at 9,250. In Floyd County, there were 5,840 confirmed cases and 94 fatalities. Fulton County had the state’s highest number of confirmed cases with 43,297 and the most deaths with 707.

The DPH’s Northwest Health District has announced that the COVID-19 test sites located over in Catoosa, Dade, Floyd, Gordon, and Walker Counties will delay opening today until 10 am.
