SEXUAL ASSAULT CENTER OF NORTHWEST GEORGIA REMAINS IN SEARCH OF DONATIONS AMID FUNDRAISING CHALLENGES IN 2020

The Sexual Assault Center of Northwest Georgia continues to seek donations, even though its had to cancel all in-person fundraising events amid this era of coronavirus.

Kimberly King, Executive Director, says that the center has generated around $20,000 via an Annual Fund Campaign held in lieu of the ever-popular Rome Celebrity Dance Challenge that was called off in 2020. Funds were raised by mail, email, and social media.

Any and all donations to the center are welcome at this time and can be made online at www.sacnwga.org or via a link posted on the Sexual Assault Center of NWGA page on Facebook, attests King, who recognizes that this has been a tough year not just for non-profits, but also for-profit organizations; in light of that, donations of any size are especially appreciated right now.

King adds that limited in-person engagement has also significantly impacted the center’s outreach services during 2020. The center provides support and intervention for victims of sexual assault in Floyd, Chattooga, Gordon, Polk, and Bartow Counties.
