A total of 5,088 new cases of coronavirus were reported across Georgia on Sunday by the state’s Department of Public Health, which additionally noted three virus-related fatalities.
According to the latest report by the DPH issued just before 3 pm, there have been 587,076 confirmed cases of COVID-19 statewide. The state’s death toll now stands at 9,893. In Floyd County, there were 6,971 confirmed cases and 109 fatalities. Gwinnett County had this state’s highest number of confirmed cases with 53,549, and Fulton County had the most deaths with 740.

The DPH’s Northwest Health District has announced that the free COVID-19 testing site in Floyd County at the Coosa Valley Fairgrounds, located at 1400 Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard in Rome, will be open today, Wednesday, and Thursday from 8:30 am until 4:30 pm. No appointment is needed for the drive-up test site.
