The eyes of the nation are now on Georgia as voters will head to the polls on Tuesday (if they did not vote in advance) for the runoff election to determine who will hold the majority in the US Senate. Polls will be open from 7 am to 7 pm. The Republican incumbents Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue are being opposed by Democratic challengers Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff. There is also a post on Georgia’s Public Service Commission up for a vote.
The 117th US Congress was sworn in on Sunday night up in Washington DC. Marjorie Greene officially assumed Georgia’s 14th District seat in the United States House of Representatives; she is the successor to Tom Graves.
