LOCALS AGAIN BEING PUT ON ALERT ABOUT THE WEATHER

Locals are again being put on alert about the weather over the next few days. Tim Herrington, the Director of the Floyd County Emergency Management Agency, released an update on Wednesday afternoon regarding the potential for severe weather in the area beginning this evening. The National Weather Service has predicted that rain will mix in with snow before transitioning into snow across parts of northern Georgia late tonight and lingering into the day on Friday. The highest peaks may see a brief transition to freezing rain prior to switching to snow. The north Georgia mountains have a highest potential for accumulating snow. Precipitation is expected to end early Friday.

The possibility of a rain/snow mix is back in the forecast for Monday, reports the NWS.
