NUMBER OF CORONAVIRUS-RELATED DEATHS PASSES 10,000 IN GEORGIA

The number of fatalities attributed to the coronavirus has exceeded in 10,000 in Georgia, per the state’s Department of Public Health, which reported 5,671 new cases in addition to 70 virus-related deaths on Wednesday.

According to the latest report, which was delayed due to high volume of data, there have been 602,796 confirmed cases of COVID-19 statewide. The state’s death toll now stands at 10,035. In Floyd County, there were 7,132 confirmed cases and 109 deaths. Gwinnett County reported the state’s highest number of confirmed cases with 55,152, and Fulton County reported the highest number of fatalities with 748.

The full COVID-19 Daily Status Report is posted on the Georgia Department of Public Health’s website at www.dph.georgia.gov. That site also features a vaccine dashboard. As of the latest report released at 5:40 pm on Wednesday evening, a total of 123,030 vaccines had been administered statewide.
