THE CURTAIN RISES ON 2021 SESSION OF THE GEORGIA GENERAL ASSEMBLY

Today is day one of the 2021 session of the Georgia General Assembly down at the State Capitol in Atlanta.

Eddie Lumsden, Representative for the 12th District in the Georgia House of Representatives, expects more virtual meetings and fewer visitors ‘under the Gold Dome’ this year due to coronavirus concerns.

Lawmakers are also anticipated to deal with redistricting, following the 2020 Census. This is likely to require a special session later on this year, indicates Lumsden.

Lumsden additionally states that this special session will take place sometime around August or September.
