HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE/ELECTRONICS RECYCLING EVENT SET FOR SATURDAY

Here’s a reminder to Floyd County residents that the Rome-Floyd Recycling Center, 412 Lavender Drive in Rome, has scheduled a Household Hazardous Waste and Electronics Recycling Event for this Saturday, January 16th. Items will be collected from 9 am to 3 pm.

Michael Skeen, Public Works Director for Floyd County, asserts it has been a year since the last such recycling event because of COVID-19. Appointments must be made in advance.

Make an appointment by calling the center at (706) 291-5266. “Liquids that you would not want to drink” will be accepted at the event, like paints, states Skeen.

And if you got some new electronics over the holidays, this recycling event is the perfect opportunity to get rid of the old ones. Televisions, computers, and most peripheral equipment will all be accepted.
