KEMP DELIVERS 2021 STATE OF THE STATE ADDRESS

Governor Brian Kemp delivered his ’21 State of the State address before the Georgia General Assembly on Thursday. He discussed the challenges of last year and plans for this year. The address may be viewed in its entirety on the Governor’s Facebook page.

Kemp announced that he and State Superintendent Richard Woods have plans to provide a one-time, $1,000 bonus to every K-12 public school teacher and school-level staff member in the state. According to a release by the Georgia Department of Education, funds will be allocated to school districts and must be spent on the bonus payments. Superintendent Woods will recommend this allocation for approval at the state Board of Education’s meeting on February 18, 2021.
