MORE THAN 6,000 NEW CASES OF COVID-19, 142 VIRUS-RELATED DEATHS REPORTED ACROSS GEORGIA THURSDAY; OVER 300,000 HAVE BEEN VACCINATED

A total of 6,407 new cases of coronavirus were reported across Georgia on Thursday by the state Department of Public Health, which additionally noted 142 more virus-related fatalities. One of those fatalities was reported here in Floyd County.

According to the latest report by the DPH issued just before 3 pm, there have been 660,720 confirmed cases of COVID-19 statewide. The state’s death toll now stands at 10,721. In Floyd County, there were 7,650 confirmed cases and 119 fatalities. Gwinnett County had this state’s highest number of confirmed cases with 62,014, and Fulton County had the most deaths with 790.

As of the most recent report at 5:28 pm on Thursday night, some 329,506 vaccines had been administered across the state.
