NEARLY 5,500 NEW CASES OF CORONAVIRUS REPORTED ACROSS GEORGIA ON SUNDAY, OVER 400,000 HAVE BEEN VACCINATED

A total of 5,404 new cases of coronavirus were reported across Georgia on Sunday by the state’s Department of Public Health, which additionally noted three virus-related deaths.

According to the latest report by the DPH issued just before 3 pm, there have been 680,378 confirmed cases of COVID-19 statewide. The state’s death toll now stands at 11,032. In Floyd County, there were 7,816 confirmed cases and 121 fatalities. Gwinnett County had this state’s highest number of confirmed cases with 64,205, and Fulton County had the most deaths with 814.

As of the most recent report at 5:52 pm on Sunday, 402,955 vaccines had been administered statewide.

The DPH’s Northwest Health District has announced that the free COVID-19 testing site in Floyd County at the Coosa Valley Fairgrounds, located at 1400 Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in Rome, will only be open this Wednesday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
