Georgia State Parks and Historic Sites have much to offer those in search of Winter adventures. Kim Hatcher, Public Affairs Coordinator, asserts that the parks have remained busy in spite of cooler temperatures. Camping has been particularly popular; reservations are recommended well in advance.
Accommodations include cabins, yurts and campsites. Reservations may be made online at www.gastateparks.org.
Hatcher indicates that state parks offer plenty of space for social distancing in the great outdoors. The parks are open every day. The historic sites are open on select days; check the website for hours.
Winter is also an optimal time of the year to enjoy unobstructed views of the forest, adds Hatcher.
