FLOYD COUNTY PAWS CONTINUES TO CONDUCT ITS BUSINESS – INCLUDING ADOPTIONS – BY APPOINTMENT

Floyd County PAWS (Public Animal Welfare Services) continues to conduct its business by appointment only, including adoptions, says Jeff Mitchell, the director, who adds that extra efforts are being made to keep the public safe in this era of coronavirus.

To schedule an appointment, call (706) 236-4537. Their facility is located at 99 North Avenue in Rome.

Mitchell adds that the acquisition of a trailer, thanks to a grant from the Petco Foundation, will soon allow PAWS to conduct more transports of animals to other areas of the country and host more adoption events locally.

Monetary donations to PAWS are welcome at this time, along with items for its community pantry like dog/cat food and dog houses, states Mitchell.

The public is urged by Mitchell to keep watch on the Public Animal Welfare Services’ Facebook page for updates on some socially-distant events that are currently in the works.
