OVER 4,000 NEW CASES OF CORONAVIRUS REPORTED ACROSS GEORGIA ON SUNDAY; OVER 656,000 HAVE BEEN VACCINATED

A total of 4,224 new cases of coronavirus were reported across Georgia on Sunday by the state’s Department of Public Health, which additionally noted just three more virus-related deaths.

According to the latest report by the DPH issued just before 3 pm, there have been 718,532 confirmed cases of COVID-19 statewide. The state’s death toll now stands at 11,801. In Floyd County, there were 8,260 confirmed cases and 132 fatalities. Gwinnett County had this state’s highest number of confirmed cases with 70,267, and Fulton County had the most deaths with 852.

As of the most recent report at 5:55 pm Sunday night, 656,501 vaccines had been administered across this state.

The DPH’s Northwest Health District has announced that the free COVID-19 testing site in Floyd County at the Coosa Valley Fairgrounds, located at 1400 Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in Rome, will only be open this Wednesday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
