OVER 3,000 NEW CASES OF CORONAVIRUS REPORTED IN GEORGIA ON THE LAST DAY OF JANUARY, MORE THAN 923,000 GEORGIANS HAVE BEEN VACCINATED

A total of 3,021 new cases of coronavirus were reported across Georgia on Sunday by the state Department of Public Health, which additionally noted just two virus-related deaths.
According to the latest report from the DPH issued just prior to 3 pm, there have been 749,867 confirmed cases of COVID-19 statewide. The state’s death toll now stands at 12,570. Here in Floyd County, there were 8,547 confirmed cases and 138 deaths. Gwinnett County had the state’s highest number of confirmed cases with 73,712, and Fulton County had the most deaths with 895.

The DPH Northwest Health District has announced that the free COVID-19 testing site in Floyd County over at the Coosa Valley Fairgrounds, located at 1400 Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd in Rome, will only be open on Wednesday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
