SEXUAL ASSAULT CENTER OF NORTHWEST GEORGIA IS ASSISTING WITH FORMATION OF A SEXUAL VIOLENCE PREVENTION TASK FORCE IN FLOYD COUNTY

The Sexual Assault Center of Northwest Georgia is providing support for a Sexual Violence Prevention Task Force in Floyd County.
Kimberly King, Executive Director, indicates that as a contractee with the Georgia Department of Public Health, the center will offer guidance to get the community task force up and running.
Community members are now being recruited to be a part of the Task Force in order to address the prevention of sexual assault in Rome and Floyd County, asserts King.
The “Me Too” movement a few years ago opened up a dialogue about sexual assault that King wants to continue. She hopes to make survivors aware that help is available and to raise public awareness of this issue in the community and in the world.
King adds that even if you have not been a victim of sexual assault, chances are great that you know someone who has.
