CORONAVIRUS UPDATE FROM THE GEORGIA DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH; ONE COMMUNITY UNITED TEAMS UP WITH MEDICAL COMMUNITY FOR COVID-19 VACCINATION VIRTUAL TOWN HALL

A total of 2,996 new cases of coronavirus were reported across Georgia on Tuesday by the state’s Department of Public Health, which additionally noted 162 more virus-related fatalities.
According to the latest report by the DPH issued just before 3 pm, there have been 755,412 confirmed cases of COVID-19 statewide. The state’s death toll now stands at 12,772. In Floyd County, there were 8,656 confirmed cases and 139 deaths. Gwinnett County had the state’s highest number of confirmed cases with 74,367. Fulton County had the most fatalities with 904.
The full COVID-19 Daily Status Report is posted on the website of the Georgia Department of Public Health, www.dph.georgia.gov. That site also features a vaccine dashboard and a vaccine locator. As of the latest report at 6:36 pm on Tuesday evening, 984,354 of the vaccines had been administered statewide.
The DPH’s Northwest Health District has announced that the free COVID-19 test sites in Dade and Floyd Counties will delay opening today until 10 am. For updates on test sites districtwide, check out Northwest Health District’s Facebook page.
