FLOYD EMA DIRECTOR ENCOURAGES LOCALS TO GET VACCINE UPON ELIGIBILITY

Tim Herrington, the Director of the Floyd County Emergency Management Agency, encourages all Rome and Floyd County residents to get vaccinated against coronavirus upon eligibility. He hopes that the community will have made ‘signficant strides’ towards combating the virus by this summer.

Georgia is now in phase 1A of vaccine distribution; that includes healthcare workers, residents and staff of long-term care facilities, adults aged 65+ and their caregivers (as applicable), as well as law enforcement, firefighters, 911 dispatchers, and first responders. A vaccine locator is featured on the Georgia Department of Public Health’s website at www.dph.georgia.gov. The vaccine roll out plan is also outlined on that site.
