CORONAVIRUS UPDATE FROM THE GEORGIA DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH

A total of 2,633 new cases of coronavirus and 123 more virus-related deaths were reported across Georgia on Tuesday by the state’s Department of Public Health. Four of those fatalities were reported in Floyd County.

According to the latest report by the DPH issued just before 3 pm, there have been 778,049 confirmed cases of COVID-19 statewide. The state’s death toll now stands at 13,481. In Floyd County, there were 8,880 confirmed cases and 146 fatalities. Gwinnett County had this state’s highest number of confirmed cases with 76,599, and Fulton County had the most deaths with 953.
