Floyd County Commissioners took time at their regular meeting on Tuesday to honor local law enforcement. Chaplain David “Chappy” Thornton of the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office was acknowledged for more than three decades of service. Craig Stanfield was also recognized as Floyd County’s Officer of the Year. The meeting was held at the Forum River Center and was streamed live on Facebook via the Floyd County, GA – Government page.
