CORONAVIRUS UPDATE FROM THE GEORGIA DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH

A total of 1,736 new cases of coronavirus and 33 more virus-related deaths were reported across Georgia on Monday by the state’s Department of Public Health. One of those fatalities was reported in Floyd County.

According to the latest update by the DPH issued just before 3 pm, there have been 792,509 confirmed cases of COVID-19 statewide. The state’s death toll now stands at 13,997. In Floyd County, there were 9,004 confirmed cases and 151 fatalities. Gwinnett County had this state’s highest number of confirmed cases with 78,033, and Fulton County had the most deaths with 987.

The full COVID-19 Daily Status Report is posted on the Georgia Department of Public Health’s website, www.dph.georgia.gov. The website also features a new vaccine dashboard, which is currently updated daily at 3 pm and features the number of vaccine doses administered per county in addition to statewide numbers. And as of Monday afternoon, 1,445,835 of those vaccines had been administered across the state; 26,545 vaccines had been administered here in Floyd County.
