WINTER WEATHER HAS IMPACTED SHIPPING OF THE COVID-19 VACCINE TO GEORGIA

Winter weather across the country is significantly impacting shipments of the COVID-19 vaccine to Georgia, as indicated on Tuesday evening by the DPH, which was notified by the CDC that Pfizer and Moderna vaccines that would have normally arrived during the first part of this week were held back by the manufacturers due to the weather. That has led to rescheduling of vaccination appointments statewide. A limited number of vaccines had left manufacturing facilities in advance of this winter weather; the DPH has requested that those shipments be released and delivered.
