BEAUTIFUL WEATHER AHEAD FOR THE NEXT FEW DAYS, TIME TO START PLANTING!

Beautiful weather is in the forecast over the next week, which will provide gardeners with a great opportunity to prepare for Spring. Keith Mickler, the University of Georgia Extension agent for Floyd County, states that now is a good time to plant ornamental trees and shrubs, along with some items in the vegetable garden like cabbage, potatoes, and onions.

And if you plan to plant a garden, reach out to the Extension Office first for a soil test, urges Mickler. This will determine what nutrients may be necessary to help your garden grow.

The cost for a soil test is $9. For more information and additional lawn and garden advice, contact Floyd County’s UGA Extension Office via telephone at (706) 295-6210.
