CORONAVIRUS, VACCINATION REPORT FROM THE GEORGIA DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH

A total of 1,867 new cases of coronavirus and 114 virus-related deaths were reported in Georgia on Thursday by the state Department of Public Health.

According to the latest update by the DPH issued just before 3 pm, there have been 824,804 confirmed cases of COVID-19 statewide. The state’s death toll now stands at 15,462. In Floyd County, there were 9,383 confirmed cases and 165 fatalities. Gwinnett County had this state’s highest number of confirmed cases with 81,008, and Fulton County had the most deaths with 1,079.

As of the latest update to the DPH’s vaccine dashboard Thursday afternoon, 2,217,163 vaccines had been administered statewide; that included 1,350,209 first doses and 866,954 second doses. The number of vaccines administered here in Floyd County totaled 35,474.
