COVID-19, VACCINE UPDATE FROM THE GEORGIA DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH

Just 752 new cases of coronavirus and 43 virus-related deaths were reported in Georgia on Monday by the state’s Department of Public Health.

According to the latest report by the DPH issued just before 3 pm, there have been 829,077 confirmed cases of COVID-19 statewide. The state’s death toll now stands at 15,640. In Floyd County, there were 9,464 confirmed caes and 166 fatalities. Gwinnett County had this state’s highest number of confirmed cases with 81,394, and Fulton County had the most deaths with 1,092.

As of the latest update to the DPH’s vaccine dashboard on Monday afternoon, 2,360,595 vaccines have been administered in Georgia to include 1,428,294 first doses and 932,301 second doses. The number of vaccines administered here in Floyd County totaled 36,874.
