FLOYD COUNTY COMMISSION HOLDS REGULAR MEETING AT THE FORUM RIVER CENTER; DOWNTOWN VENUE SOON TO BE USED BY LOCAL COURTS

The Floyd County Commission met in regular session on Tuesday. Highlights included the recognition of a trio that rescued a teenager from a fiery crash on Georgia 53 this past Saturday. That meeting was streamed live and may still be viewed via the Floyd County, GA – Government page on Facebook.

Commissioners have been gathering over recent months at the Forum River Center. The local courts will soon use the downtown venue. Floyd County Commission Chair Wright Bagby says that it will provide plenty of space for courts to do their work, which is ‘way behind’ in this era of coronavirus.

The Georgia Supreme Court’s Chief Justice Harold Melton on Tuesday issued an order to lift a suspension on jury trials, which had been in place since last March in the wake of the pandemic.
