LIST OF GEORGIANS ELIGIBLE TO RECEIVE COVID-19 VACCINE EXPANDS TODAY

The list of Georgians eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine espands again today to include those aged 55 and older and individuals with disabilities or certain medical conditions. Governor Brian Kemp has stated that he hopes to make the vaccine available to all adult Georgians in early April.

The list of health conditions that now qualify for vaccination is posted on the Georgia Department of Public Health’s website, www.dph.georgia.gov.

Just 789 new cases of coronavirus and no virus-related deaths were reported on Sunday in Georgia.

According to the latest update by the DPH issued just before 3 pm, there have been 835,484 confirmed cases of COVID-19 statewide. The state’s death toll now stands at 15,871. In Floyd County, there were 9,552 confirmed cases and 167 fatalities. Gwinnett County had this state’s highest number of confirmed cases with 81,964, and Fulton County had the most deaths with 1,123.

As of the latest update to the DPH’s vaccine dashboard on Sunday afternoon, 2,720,976 vaccines had been administered across Georgia; that total includes 1,687,902 first doses and 1,033,074 second doses. A total of 40,580 vaccines had been administered in Floyd County.
