The Exchange Club Family Resource Center will lead the local observation of Child Abuse Prevention Month in April. This year’s theme is “Shedding the Light: Bringing Light to Child Abuse Prevention Efforts”, according to Tina Bartleson, FRC Executive Director, who says that the slate of activities for 2021 will include two in-person events. She indicates that the decision to hold these events was based on a decline in coronavirus cases locally. It will all get started on Thursday, April 1st at 1:30 pm with placement of Pinwheels for Prevention on the lawn of the Rome-Floyd Chamber, located at the corner of Riverside Parkway and Broad Street.
The second in-person event will be the Glow Walk on the evening of Friday, April 23rd. It will take off from the FRC office at 7:30 pm, asserts Bartleson, who adds that participants will be given a glow-in-the-dark pinwheel!
Bartleson encourages the public to visit the Exchange Club Family Resource Center’s Facebook page for updates on local CAP month activities and other upcoming events.
