COVID-19 UPDATE FROM THE GEORGIA DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH

A total of 1,129 new cases of coronavirus and just 16 virus-related fatalities were reported across Georgia on Tuesday by the state’s Department of Public Health.

According to the latest update by the DPH issued just before 3 pm, there have been 837,443 confirmed cases of COVID-19 statewide. The state’s death toll now stands at 15,928. In Floyd County, there were 9,576 confirmed cases and 167 fatalities. Gwinnett County had this state’s highest number of confirmed cases with 82,122, and Fulton County had the most deaths with 1,131.

There was no update to the DPH’s vaccine dashboard on Tuesday afternoon; this was because of a data download issue, as indicated in a media release by the department.
