HABITAT FOR HUMANITY OF COOSA VALLEY PLANS ‘HAMMER IT HOME’ 5K AND HEALTH WALK FOR MAY 1ST

Would you like to support the Habitat for Humanity of Coosa Valley mission to help partner families attain safe, affordable housing? Well, you don’t have to lift a hammer to help! The local Habitat chapter invites the community to participate in the Hammer It Home 5K and Health Walk, slated for Saturday, May 1st. That race will start and finish at State Mutual Stadium (the home of the Rome Braves) in their eastside parking lot.

Registration is now open at www.habitatcoosavalley.org and at the Habitat’s ReStore at 504 East 1st Avenue in Rome, indicates Betsy Allgood, Executive Director.

The cost is $25 for the health walk and $30 for the 5K. There will also be a virtual 5K, for which registration costs $15.

All proceeds will go towards the Habitat for Humanity of Coosa Valley’s 58th home, asserts Allgood, who expresses her gratitude for the support of event sponsors and the community.

The 5K will begin at 9 am, with the walk to follow at 9:15 am. Participants will receive a t-shirt. Medals will be awarded to the top three finishers in age groups.
