ROME-FLOYD RECYCLING CENTER WILL HOLD AN ELECTRONICS RECYCLING EVENT ON SATURDAY

The Rome-Floyd Recycling Center will host an Electronics Recycling event this Saturday, March 20th. Items will be accepted from 9 am until 1 pm at the center, located at 412 Lavender Drive in Rome.

Michael Skeen, the Director of Public Works for Floyd County, indicates that appointments must be made in advance by calling (706) 291-5266. Be sure to make that call by 5 pm today!

The items typically collected at these events include televisions, computers, and peripheral equipment, says Skeen.

Skeen attests that the Rome-Floyd Recycling Center set a record at the last recycling event, a Household Hazardous Waste and Electronics Collection in January. About 680 vehicles were counted at that event, a significant uptick from the previous record of 480-500. Skeen muses that locals accumulated quite a bit of recyclable material amid a one-year hiatus from these recycling events due to COVID-19.

Additional recycling events are scheduled for this May, July, September, and November. Complete details are posted online at www.romefloyd.com. Next up will be a Household Hazardous Waste and Electronics Recycling Event on May 15th.
