CORONAVIRUS, VACCINE UPDATE FROM GEORGIA DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH

Just 899 new cases of coronavirus and no virus-related deaths were reported across Georgia on Sunday by the state Department of Public Health.

According to the latest update by the DPH issued just before 3 pm, there have been 843,141 confirmed cases of COVID-19 statewide. The state’s death toll now stands at 16,145. In Floyd County, there were 9,658 confirmed cases and 167 fatalities. Gwinnett County had this state’s highest number of confirmed cases with 82,586, and Fulton County had the most deaths with 1,152.

As of the latest update to the DPH’s vaccine dashboard on Sunday afternoon, 3,207,113 vaccines had been administered statewide; that includes 2,062,790 first doses and 1,144,323 second doses. The number of vaccines administered here in Floyd County totaled 46,160.
