CORONAVIRUS UPDATE FROM THE GEORGIA DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH

A total of 1,219 new cases of coronavirus and 82 more virus-related fatalities were reported across Georgia on Thursday by the state Department of Public Health.

According to the latest report by the DPH issued just before 3 pm, there have been 846,745 confirmed cases of COVID-19 statewide. The state’s death toll now stands at 16,336. In Floyd County, there were 9,726 confirmed cases and 170 fatalities. Gwinnett County had this state’s highest number of confirmed cases with 82,953, and Fulton County had the most deaths with 1,169.

The DPH additionally reported that as of 3 pm on Thursday afternoon, a total of 3,378,301 vaccines had been administered statewide.
