BRAVES CRUSHED BY RAYS IN SPRING TRAINING; OPENING DAY IS JUST THREE DAYS AWAY!

The Atlanta Braves were hammered by the Tampa Bay Rays 16-5 in Spring Training action on Sunday afternon in Port Charlotte, Florida.

Offensive highlights for the Braves included a game-tying two-run homer by Freddie Freeman in the top of the sixth inning, his first homerun in Grapefruit League play for this year. Alex Jackson broke that tie and gave Atlanta a 5-3 lead with a two-run homer in the seventh.

The Rays surged ahead of the Braves with 12 runs in the bottom of the eighth inning. Chad Sobotka was charged with the loss.

The Braves will return to CoolToday Park in North Port as host to the Boston Red Sox this afternoon. First pitch is scheduled for 1:05 pm.
