BUCKLE UP, FLOYD COUNTY! THIS SPRING COULD BE ACTIVE IN TERMS OF SEVERE WEATHER

Buckle up, Floyd County. If last week’s storms are any indicator, this Spring could be quite active in terms of severe weather. This is the assertion of Tim Herrington, Director of Floyd County’s Emergency Management Agency.

Herrington encourages locals to download Floyd County’s CodeRED mobile alert safety app and the Floyd County EMA app to get updates on impending severe weather and preparedness tips this Spring and throughout the year.

It is also wise to know the difference between a watch and a warning, asserts Herrington. A watch indicates that the potential exists for any given type of severe weather, and a warning indicates that severe weather is imminent and you should take cover immediately.

Herrington adds that Floyd EMA makes good use of social media to inform the public whenever severe weather is in the area.

The Salvation Army and the American Red Cross have both responded to the needs of Georgians impacted by last week’s storms. Monetary donations are requested towards those efforts.
