AND THAT’S A WRAP ON THE 2021 SESSION OF THE GEORGIA GENERAL ASSEMBLY!

The ’21 session of the Georgia General Assembly is now on the books! State lawmakers wrapped up their 40-day session on Wednesday down at the State Capitol in Atlanta.

Katie Dempsey, Representative for Georgia’s 13th District in the state House of Representatives, asserts that she and her colleagues have worked very hard this year and have been cautious with regard to COVID-19. She says that she now looks forward to returning to her district and putting the laws passed this year into action.

Highlights from the final day of the session included the passage of the state’s budget. In addition, HB 479, an overhaul of Georgia’s citizens arrest statute, was granted final passage unanimously by the state House; the bill awaits the signature of Governor Brian Kemp.
