The Coosa River Basin Initiative looks forward to hitting the water again in the not-too-distant future.
Jesse Demonbreun-Chapman, Executive Director, anticipates that the CRBI’s paddle trips will resume in July. The local non-profit will team up with River Dog Paddle Company to host an on-water event in June, for which the details are forthcoming.
Demonbreun-Chapman urges the public to stay tuned to www.coosa.org and the CRBI’s social media outlets for updates on upcoming paddle trips.
The CRBI’s annual Fish Fry, which was cancelled in 2020 due to coronavirus concerns, is slated to return in November. That event will be combined with their Annual Meeting this year.
Demonbreun-Chapman has spent the last few months championing the CRBI cause of cleaner water with the Georgia General Assembly, whose ’21 session concluded on Wednesday evening. Communications were conducted virtually instead of in-person at the State Capitol in Atlanta as in years past.
