UGA EXTENSION AGENT KEITH MICKLER URGES LOCAL LAWN AND GARDEN TO COVER PLANTS OVERNIGHT IN ANTICIPATION OF CHILLY TEMPERATURES

Chilly temperatures are expected again overnight and into Saturday morning. Keith Mickler, University of Georgia Extension agent for Floyd County, says that he is concerned about the possible impact of some patchy frost on tender vegetation and encourages lawn and garden enthusiasts to cover their prized plants this evening as a precaution. He indicates that it is not uncommon for this area to experience a cold snap in early Spring.

And don’t forget to remove that cover from your plants in the morning, adds Mickler.

A freeze watch has been issued by the National Weather Service for late this evening through Saturday morning. Lows will dip into the upper 20s.
