BRAVES IN DC TO FACE NATIONALS

The Atlanta Braves will open a three-game series in Washington DC against the Nationals today. Drew Smyly will be the starting pitcher for Atlanta, and Max Scherzer will head to the mound for DC. The first pitch is scheduled for 4:05 pm at Nationals Park. The game will be broadcast on WLAQ 1410 AM and 96.9 FM; air time is 2:50 pm by the Atlanta Braves Radio Network.

These rivals of the National League East had been slated to meet on Monday, but were delayed due to COVID-19 concerns. Monday’s game will be made up on Wednesday as part of a double header that will begin at 12:05 pm. Both teams are winless thus far in 2021. The Braves were swept in Philadelphia by the Phillies in a three-game set to open the season, while positive COVID-19 tests resulted in the postponement of the Nationals’ season opening set versus the New York Mets.
