ATLANTA BRAVES FALL IN EXTRAS TO MIAMI MARLINS

The Atlanta Braves were defeated by the Miami Marlins 5-3 in 10 innings on Monday night in the opener of a four-game National League East set at Truist Park, marking the second straight loss for Atlanta.

The Braves had a 3-1 lead by the end of the seventh inning, thanks in part to a pair of sac flys from Ozzie Albies.

Marcell Ozuna also had an RBI single. Ronald Acuna, Jr. reached home plate twice. Starting pitcher Huascar Ynoa notched a career-high 10 strikeouts over six innings of work. Atlanta’s bullpen, however, struggled. They surrendered five walks in the top of the eighth, during which the Marlins tied the game on a two-run double by Garrett Cooper. The Fish took the lead on an RBI single by Cooper and added insurance with an RBI double by Brian Anderson in the top of the 10th. Jacob Webb took the loss.

The Braves will host the Marlins again tonight at 7:20 pm. The game will be broadcast on WLAQ 1410 AM and 96.9 FM; air time is set for 6:05 pm from the Atlanta Braves Radio Network.
